24 Days to Go!

Feeling refreshed from a great holiday on the Norfolk Broads, the final part of my preperation has begun.

On the weekend of 9/10th July some friends and I cycled the South Downs Way. Just over 40 miles per day off road, over the beautiful South Downs. Which vere very steep as you would expect and more of a challenge than the Ridgeway proved to be last year. A great time was had by all and fortunately the weather was kind to us.

Pictures. Team SDW...In some parts the Downs are too steep to Cycle...! A well deserved beer towards the end of day 1.

On Wednesday 13th I took part in the F3 Sprint Triathlon at Dorney Lake near Windsor. Dorney lake is where the Olympic rowing will take place and is flat and fast.
I finished with a respectable time of 1hr 16mins 37 sec,10th in my age group, which is just 30secs over my PB. Considering I have done no running for 5 weeks I was very pleased with it.

I'm still cycling to work as often as I can and am entering another Dorney Lake Triathlon this Sunday morning ..24th. So I will try and better that time, weather permitting.

That just leaves 2 weeks of prep before I wind down for the final week and rest.

Fundraising for my Charity is going well. A quick trip around the local pubs in Croxley swelled the coffers by £150. So thanks to all for that.
